Liveness Detection confirms that a live person is present during a palm scan. It helps a partner block photos, videos, screen replays, and other spoof attempts without creating a biometric identity for the person.
Liveness Detection is separate from Palm Verification.
What a liveness check does
A standalone liveness check:
Opens a guided palm-camera experience inside the partner's app.
Asks you to position and move your hand as shown.
Evaluates whether a live palm is present.
Returns a success, cancellation, or error result to the partner.
What it does not do
A standalone liveness check does not:
Register your palms
Create a VeryAI account
Match you with an existing VeryAI account
Return a user ID
Create a persistent identity
Issue a signed identity token
It answers one question: is a live human palm present for this check?
Liveness Detection versus Palm Verification
Use Liveness Detection when a platform only needs proof that a live person is present right now. Use Palm Verification when a platform needs to enroll a person and recognize the same person later. A partner may use both products.
If a liveness check fails
Use even lighting
Keep one open palm centered in the frame
Follow the on-screen movement
Check camera permission
Retry from the partner's app if the session expired
A cancellation means the check did not finish. It is not the same as a failed liveness result. If the problem continues, contact the partner that started the check.
